Whether it’s your child’s first visit or you’ve been with us for years, we’re here to make every experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. From check-in to check-out, our team is committed to providing personalized, compassionate care in a kid-friendly environment. On this page, you’ll find helpful information to prepare for your appointment, know what to bring, and understand how we support you before, during, and after your visit.

In Case of Emergency or Hospital Stay

If your child needs to go to the emergency room, one of our providers—either your child’s primary doctor or the on-call provider—will help guide you to the best local ER based on your child’s symptoms. Both Albany Medical Center Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital are utilized by the providers at Latham Pediatrics. If your child is admitted, they will be cared for by the hospitalist team at either hospital.

Please note: If your baby was born at Bellevue Hospital, they cannot return there for emergency care. Bellevue is a birthing center only and does not have emergency services.

School, Camp & Sports Forms

We know forms are a big part of childhood—camp, school, sports, daycare—you name it! Here’s how we help:

  • Bring any forms to your child’s well visit, and we’ll fill them out while you’re here.
  • If you need forms completed later, you can drop them off at the front desk. Please allow up to one week for completion. We’ll call you if they’re ready sooner.
  • There is a $5 fee per form, and an additional fee for rush requests.

ADHD & Controlled Substance Prescriptions

For safety and accuracy, we kindly ask that you allow up to 3 business days for these prescriptions to be processed. Make sure your child is up to date on their med-check visits (every 3 months). All prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy.

Insurance & Billing – What to Expect

We want your experience with us to be smooth—from care to costs. Here’s a quick overview of our billing policies:

Co-Pays
Co-payments are due at the time of your child’s visit. If a co-pay isn’t made that day, a $20 surcharge will be added to the bill.

Responsible Parties
We understand family situations vary. No matter your family structure, both parents are considered responsible for any fees related to your child’s care. In situations where the parents of the child are separated or divorced, Latham Pediatrics will not act as the mediator in collecting payments. If a divorce order states that the other parent has to pay all or part of the treatment costs, it is the parent’s responsibility to collect the payment from the other parent. The court order is between the parents of the child and does not pertain to Latham Pediatrics. If the balance on a child’s account is not resolved in a timely manner, both parents will be sent to our collection agency.
