Pediatrics is a field that draws you in. You dip your toe in the water and soon enough you find yourself jumping in headfirst. Kids are amazing characters. Even on my most stressful days, kids still find a way to make you smile.
Dr. Heather Matott, a board-certified pediatrician, received her medical degree from the Siena College – Albany Medical College program in science, humanities, and medicine. While in school, she was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society, a society for those demonstrating excellence in humanistic clinical care, compassion, and dedication to service. Her pediatrics residency was completed at Albany Medical Center just three years after graduating with her degree. Dr. Matott is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Capital District Pediatrics Society.
Although Dr. Matott enjoys all aspects of her job, there are certain areas she’s specifically interested in. She loves helping families through everyday questions and reassuring them about all the weird and wonderful things kids do. Her focuses are on routine childcare, immunizations, and adolescent medicine.
Dr. Matott has two children of her own, Molly and Jack, with her husband, Matt. She cherishes the time she spends with them when she isn’t caring for her patients. For enjoyment, Dr. Matott reads, does letterboxing, and is excellent at crochet.
