Congratulations on this exciting new chapter! Whether you’re a first-time parent or expanding your family, we’re here to support you every step of the way. At Latham Pediatrics, we specialize in providing compassionate, comprehensive care for your newborn, ensuring a healthy start and a strong foundation for the future.

How to Register Your Newborn

Once your baby arrives, registering them with our office is easy:

  • Give us a call after delivery with your baby’s full name and date of birth.
  • Let the hospital staff know you’ve chosen Latham Pediatrics as your child’s pediatric provider.
  • We’ll help you schedule your baby’s first visit—typically within a few days of going home.

What to Expect at Your Baby’s First Visit

Your baby’s first check-up is an important time to connect, ask questions, and ensure everything is off to a healthy start.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Plan to arrive 15 minutes early so we can get everything set up.
  • Your baby will be weighed, measured, and gently examined by one of our pediatric providers.
  • We’ll take time to answer your questions about feeding, sleep, behavior, and anything else on your mind.
  • Our staff will also schedule your baby’s next check-up before you leave.

This visit typically lasts 30–45 minutes and is scheduled mid-day, giving you time to settle in at home before heading out.

What to Bring

To make the most of your first visit, we recommend bringing:

  • Any paperwork you received from the hospital (discharge summary, hearing screen results, etc.)
  • Insurance information, if available
  • New patient forms (if you prefer to complete them ahead of time—available here)
  • A few extra diapers, clothing, and feeding supplies (though don’t worry—we keep extras on hand just in case!)

Let’s Grow Together

Choosing a pediatrician is a big decision, and we’re here to make it easier. If you’re expecting, we’d love to be part of your child’s story—from the very beginning. Call us after your baby’s arrival to get started!
